I like having the grid visible for guides during a project, but almost every time I go into Utilities>Options>Grid & Ruler Spacing, and try to enter values (e.g., Major Spacing 1 foot, # of Subdivisions 48, or most other inch-based entries tried)I get Warning msge, telling me "The grid spacing entered was invalid, must be a positive, non-zero measurement" etc. But the values I'm trying to enter ARE positive, non-zero measurements! This is driving me nutbags. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Have you changed "Units" to feet. Then Guides and Rulers to "1ft" with 48 subdivisions. Be sure and change the "Nudge" units also under "General"

I did this and no errors.
Here's a .xar file set that way for you to look at.

    For Grant E. Remington:
Thanks for taking the time to write! The weird thing I found out is, Xara will 'accept' a suggested spacing that is abbreviated (e.g., 'ft' or 'in') but will not accept it if foot or inch is spelled out. (???)
At any rate, we're off and running...Thanks again.

    Welcome to the Xara Conferences.

Abbreviations are important, pix for pixels, in for inches, pt for points. And I think they have to be written 100pix, 12in, 24pt with no spaces.

    Gary,

    Thanks a lot!

This was also driving me crazy. Why it has to be that way, makes no sense to me but I sure love using Xara Xtreme 4 Pro!!!
