    Thanks for your input. If you want to enter a vote for Other you can do that now. Even the guy who used to have lots of hair.

    This more or less confirms what Daniel Will Harris, who used to edit the efuse.com site and now is the editor of the wild and wacky The Schmoozeletter, told me.

    Good to know for us uncommon folk when we are designing web sites for the common person.

    I think Luciano's poll may be a bit more realistic, as obviously the vast majority of people on this forum are involved in some type of graphic work. Thus, larger monitors (and resolution) are more the norm, rather than the exception, as evidenced in Gary's poll.
    I don't think I would design for larger than 800x600 just yet, although it's only been two years since everyone suggested no more than 640x480! Alas,the wheels of progress.
