    Greetings all

Can someone tell me how to produce a floor shadow without the image that is being shadowed? I want to use the "imageless shadow" to complete a logo image.

I could fake it, I guess, but I wondered if there were a simple way to strip the shadow off an image.

Sorry if this is already dealt with elsewhere, but the search function isn't working.

    Cheers,

    Simon

    1. Create your image with the drop shadow
    2. Select the image
    3. Arrange > Convert To Editable Shapes
    4. Arrange > Ungroup
    5. Delete the image

Many thanks, Zee. It's been a while since I worked with Xara, because I switched to Mac. I must say that the loss of Xara is the thing I really regret about the switch.

In the case of Halo shadow it's possible to give the object a 100% transparency. I think it could be an interesting improvement if one could unlink the transparency level of the object and it's transparency for all kinds of transparency, like in 3D apps.

    Kindly,

    WELL Ivan,

That is a NEW one on me!

Two Glow shadows can be blended as well.

Interesting when used on text with wide kerning.

Must use similar algorythms as the feathering tool.

It might explain why transparent PNGs don't work properly with Glow shadows but do with Wall shadows.

    Thanks, John
