when it's finished it would be cool to add the xar file.. I would like to print it out in bigger resolution. It would be a nice poster.

TEXAS isn't large enough
I can promise you right now, TEXAS is huge.
count me in. Tad gave me the heads up on this project. I still adore Xara and its ease of use.
at that size, Joroho and I are next door neighbors.
I live in Spring, TX but posting me in Houston, TX is sufficiently close.

G'day! (Australian Accent! Ha!)
I'm Dan'o, like Tao Jones im an Aussie (Hey nice work Tao!) Please add me whenever to the world map of XARA X "USERS" In Melbourne Australia!
I will get the map updated today. Sorry, I did not get to the computer yesterday. I may have to redraw the map in Xara this weekend. Now the map is a bit map. Then it will be more scalable and I can add color. I will send a an update to Gary to post later. When ever I can get back online. After this is all done I can post the .xar file for anyone that wants.

Howdy.
We are in Bath, UK but shortly to be moving 20 miles south to Frome. In doing so we'll lose our beloved ADSL connection and have to make to with crummy ol' ISDN. How bogus is that!? Glad I have some fast software tho....

Athena's comments about the relative size of Texas has had me thinking (ouch). Bruce's map uses a world projection that distorts the land masses by drawing it as if all the lines of longitude are parallel. This projection is I know commonly used in Canada and Russia. It makes both countries look huge! Correspondingly, South America, Africa, and India are shown relatively small. There are other projections that avoid the distortion. I presume that American schools used projections that emphasised the size of the USA. Maps have a long history of distortions being used to reinforce a particular world view.
I include a pic of a globe so you can see the relative size of South America to the USA. Compare it with Bruce's projection.
Great work Bruce! It is very enjoyable to gaze at your map and see the names of all my xara friends!
Regards, Ross
