    Hi ravernews... and welcome

I think you can do this kind of graphics with most any good 2d graphics software and a little practice eh...

As for which package, well... pick one, practice some and then let us know what you have decided,,, from there someone who uses that particular app will no doubt be along to further assist you... and or guide you to where such assistance can be had

We have a member here at TG who does just this kind of look, but I simply cannot remember right off the top of my head... the member had posted a blue grafx, just like this, including though, a landscape as background... anybody remember who that was?

Thanks any help will be great!

I don't care about the back ground. I just want to do that cool glossy graphic design. I know there are more out there that I want to do but I cant find it right now.

I suck at drawing. This is a design I did. Its my first one, but its nothing special.

Dont laugh please I know you guys are really good, but I am learning. I did that with photoshop.

heres is what I want to learn how to do. I found the images.

I don't want to waste money on software that I wouldn't be able to learn how to do the graphics I want. Thank you guys and ladies on the board for any help.

I dont want to have to dump 3,000 dollars into 3D Studio Max, but if I have to then I will.

Will that software allow me to do this?

You'll be able to do such images with any 3D package supporting raytracing. I personaly use mainly Cinema4D, wich is reasonably priced, yet very powerfull.

But in fact you do not need great "power" do do this.

You can do the green glass image by modeling the shape using box modeling... ie. modeling a simple shape, then "smoothed" by the software, and aplying a glass texture on it.

The second image is made from simple cylinders cloned along a path, with a chrome texture on it, and a little postwork in photoshop.

Nothing complex... but the beauty did not come from the technical complexity ;-)

you might search for the free Wings 3D and start modeling with it. Gidgit might be able to help you - he mastered this app. I'm not sure if you need a separate raytracer for Wings or not.

Once you master the app, all you need is imagination. Do some blobs, blurbs, metaballs, hypernurbs or whatever it's called, tweak and twist, texture and render them, and you'll have identical results.

Unfortunately I don't have enough imagination for this kind of stuff, I'm more technically and real life oriented, but I can imagine to use my apps and play some hours to come up with similar results.

I don't know if Cinema (www.maxon.com) still has the offer for the free version. It's limited only in render size, the rest is flawless. You might try this one as well.

    All the best,
