No kidding either!! WOW, what a cool program. I post it here because it's used alot in the industry for doing textures for 3D models.

You can get here at ZDNet: http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/Deep-...-10398243.html

    Or at Downloads.com:
    http://www.download.com/Deep-Paint/3...-10398243.html

I had to use IE to get it as Firefox just doesn't want to cooperate. Neither site likes download managers either. The file is over 50 Mb's so I would just download it during the night when everything is slower on the web. Fast connections are best but I still got it with my 56K connection over night while I slept!!

    All the best
    Richard

One better, here is a tile I created with the program. I took it in to PSP afterwards and made it a seamless tile. I'm very pleased with it. Mind you this is a doodle!!

As for a screen shot the program looks like an earlier version (6) of PS in many ways. So if you are familiar with PS then this should be fairly intuitive to use.

PS: There are NO restrictions with this freebie. It's FREE and FULLY useable!!

I do notice one tiny thing that I'm not crazy about if you export as a JPEG then you will get a very dull export if you export as a TGA, TIFF and PNG and then open one of them up in say Irfanview and save it as a JPEG then it's cool!! The import in to newer versions of PS (I have PS-CS) doesn't seem to work and if it does I'm not sure how to make it work!! It DOES plug in to PS-CS and it's there in the plugin/filters drop down menu but when you want to import it just kinda sits there. So I imagine they just are not compatible but that's cool as with the TIFF or PNG export you have a very high quality image in which to bring in to PS and work with your UV Templates quite fine!!

Hi guys... this app info was posted 2 days ago in the New Gear forum, in fact it was that post that got another member suggesting we create a forum for freebie apps, to which while not a forum, we did create a sticky for info regarding such, in the New Gear forum...

Anyways, yea, can ya believe the good fortune for all those painters out there... cool beans to the max

    Hey Mikey, how ya doing??

I think a freebie forum would be fun and helpful. The "New Gear" forum is a bit confusing with a name like that I think!!

I actually tiled a cape for Aiko with the one above and it looks GREAT. Tiled perfectly and looks very cool!!

    All the best

I posted a screen capture and brief review when sPECTre posted the good news over at Application Convergence on Photoshopgurus.

So as not to stray awfully OT and eat up bandwidth, here's the link.

BTW, Deep Paint blows the doors off Gimp, even though I commend its deveopers for gifting the graphics community w/ a free Photoshop clone. Deep Paint has the look and feel of Photoshop, but a lot of Painter-style brushes, ideal for texturing models.

    My Best,

    Gare
