Things are still very bad around here, but our home was saved because of the herorics of this pilot and Hotshot crews from the Black Hills of South Dakota.

This picture was taken from my driveway not long after my last post. Not something I want to go thru again soon.

Thanks for all your thoughts and the personal e-mails some of you sent. Keep praying though, we still have 10,000 people evacuated.

So glad to hear you are safe for now.

Living in a forested area as we do we are accutely aware of the possible danger.

In my opinion arsonist should be hung and quartered!

and I'm glad your home was saved but it's a cryin shame for the rest of the folks out there. I know what it's like, I and my family delt with the opposite but just as deadly tropical weather patterns when I lived in Florida. Lightning strikes, tropical storms, hurricanes....real fun.

You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care!!!

This photo might have been just another boring New Mexico sunset except it is a giant plume of smoke from the Rodeo, Arizona fire to the west of us taking up much of the western sky last night. Each morning we awake to smoky skies to the north which is caused by the fires in Colorado.

Mike - the smoke up there must be unbearable.
