could be the shuttle commander who faced with almost certain disaster has to put trust in Sandra the stowaway.
The life & death events on the shuttle are being direct broadcast live to a glued-to-their-sets worldwide TV audience. It had been Jacks idea to equip the shuttle for such broadcasts. He thought it would be like a "reality" tv show and that it would gain NASA more public support. (He needed more public support to get that funding for the Uranus mission). In NASA's PR driven task of equiping the shuttle for direct-to-TV broadcasts they had failed to foresee the need for a means shut off the broadcast equipment. Hence a global audience watches as Michelle must make decisions that could kill the crew live on TV.
Putting trust in Sandra means breaking all the NASA "rules" Michelle lived by to become a commander. While the world watches on their TV's, over the radio Jack is screeming at her to arrest Sandra (ie lock her back into the storage compartment). But in the hopeless situation, the non-astronaut Sandra (looking out of place in her tastefully sexy office attire) is the only hope.
The world cheers when Michelle tells Jack to shut the F*** up and gives Sandra the nod to commence fixing the shuttle.
Regards, Ross
