I am always amazed by what the bitmap tracer can do on its own. It can reproduce a cartoon line drawing extremely well or it can, as it has done here, transform a photograph into a fascinating drawing. Thought some of you might enjoy the results. I'm not sure how it does it, but it's intriguing. Neil

    Yo !
You know it's not fair to post a trace without revealing your tracer settings. Them's the RULES!

    Come clean now.

Sorry 'bout that, Tad. In my first weeks with Xara, someone suggested these settings. I haven't changed them since.

Now I've made a list, I could change some of them and experiment. Cheers, Neil

I also love the ability to work further on the different objects in the trace. See the attachment, which is of a bitmap in the clipart gallery, photo section.

Egg, Tad, There's so much one can do after the tracing. Here's some colours and transparencies added. Neil

The colour alterations really bring the image to life. As a matter of interest how long did it take you to achieve?

I'll try to remember the many settings used in the cottage tracing and get back to you. Unfortunately I didn't save the original .xar file.

    Egg,
It didn't take that long - maybe an hour or so. (I'm retired and lose time with Xara. Usually no deadlines.) I "ungrouped" the image and then selected each segment and gave it a fill. With most fills I selected elliptical, a favorite. I'm adding feathering now which gives it alters it a bit. I may try to replace the above with a newer edition. Thanks for your help and interest.
