It took me awhile to get it right, but your method works great!
For the last step, though, I selected both the pasted path in front, and the pasted bitmap, and used Intersect Shapes, not slice. Is that right?

What ever works. You can also use Clipview.
More importantly, you can export the path for any
of the Photoshop vector shapes, and use them in Xarax. You can drag from Photoshop any vector shape with layer styles. This comes in as a bitmap.
Don't know why the export of the clip view is 'clipped'
