An old problem which cleared up when I got my new laptop. Seems like my problem started with SP2 on the old machine. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Cool TOIT Bill http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
I have the page built, and a few of the links in but not all. I got through the "b's"... If anyone is interested in matching links to movies, I would gladly share the files... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
The movie Help page has 77 movies. I have 11 sorted... Been slinging Perl scripts for the last 2 days, the last thing I want to do all night is sling more code... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
BTW: Thanks for the round toit Bill... Grumble... grumble... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gifwell i'ts ok for some, what with getting toits, and round ones at that, but my movies still don't work [weep weep] my key board is floating in tears, and worse still my teeth are getting worn down what with all the nashing and all. Never mind my kingdom for a horse what about my movies!!

For info of all I have just loaded same cd softwear on another computer running xp home with sp 2 and the movies run fine so it is not sp2 that is the culprit, there has to be a dll or such like that is missing. Both these pc have the identical set up and programs installed except for zone alarms and a pop advert stopper that is on the pc that won't show the movies, does that make sense to any one?? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

I am about half way done... page is built and have 32 of the 75 movies sorted... Even picked up one or two pointers from listening to the clips. Will most likely learn more when I actually get to watching em.... again. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
If there's no gray boxes, then it's an ActiveX problem. Perhaps security settings are too high?
ActiveX is a bit of a pain. Because if it's not working or security is set to high, then the movie buttons don't work.
The trouble is, they have to be used to launch stuff from the help files. Because with the CHM files, you can only launch other CHM files directly. ActiveX has to be used for other stuff.
With Xara3D we went to great lengths to avoid ActiveX, as we know it's an issue. But Xara3D only has one movie -- Xara X has many, and many in context-sensitive places.
I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.
Mine aren't greyed, they operate as a button, they just don't launch the movie.

I will second Egg's problem. Might be able to finish an HTML page that duplicates the help screen today. Depending on time and taskings...
