I started using Xara when Corel had licensed the rights to market the product and it was called CorelXara. This was 1996. 18 years ago! What you're referring to is previous to that! :O

You should be fine with Xara Page & Layout Designer and yes, I think it can import old (ancient) Xara .art files.
