hmm, must you actually start your custom mold from a default shape like a square oval or something and then tweak it to your desired shape. i was trying to draw the the with the pen tool. if so,...
this is what i do, i take the pen tool, and draw 4 points with the pen tool, either straight lines or curves. then i select the desired envelope shape, click mold tool, then click on my grouped...
im reading tony roberts mold tutorial but i don't think i understand what i need to do. what i want to do is make a really weird shape then make my grouped object conform to that shape. how is this...

is this how you would use the mold tool for perspective? can the mold tool do 2pt or 3 pt perspective? is the mold tool effective at perspective? any tips on using the mold tool for perspective?
i think i got this boxy perspective down but how do you over lap boxes? its kinda boring just using simple boxes. what i mean is, i dont want to draw just flat boxy shapes but want to overlap shapes....
i think ive got the hang of 1 pt perspective now i think i could do it by eye now. im gonna try and post my results after:)

i had a look at that tutorial but i confused what you mean. are you saying its best to 'forget' about doing traditional perspective in xara cause its too hard (too much zooming, not enough screen...
i think i see my mistake after reading about 1 point perspective. the mistakes i see in my drawing are, 1. my drawing doesn't know whether its 1 pt or 2 pt perspective. 2. its impossible to be just 1...
