Thank you Promidi,
I re-downloaded Designer Pro perpetual and the little bug shown at https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?87954-New-XDP-V20-testing-profiled-colours-preview has disappeared....
Thank you, Matt.
This is not a big issue after all.
I posted it because it might extend to other effects or other versions of your applications.
These days, I'll spend some time playing with...
I have recently upgraded to XDP V20 perpetual after some years when I could not engage in graphical work, so my latest product was XDP X9 (I own all versions from CorelXara, Xara studio, etc. to XDP...
Jamestown,
if you want a rectangular bitmap like the attached one, follow sledger suggestion and use clipview.
An alternative method is: put a rectangle of the required size(without fill nor line)...
Thank you Soquili for the file, I'll print it and keep in the lab.
Just one note: Resistor in series, Rtot = R1+R2+R3+...Rn

Thanks Gary for all your work, I have received real and effective help from your "xaraxone".

Another solution:
use 100%k black only plus overprint, see attached file
The background colour replacement I did was just a work-around, I understand it is not the best choice if you have precise color scheme.
I too add cyan to black areas, but not to text because I am...
Jeff,
your black text has overprinting selected, the cyan component you added to black text is useless and might cause loss of quality in the final printed output, I would use a 100% K only.
...
Gerry,
thank you for your help.

Further tests proved that the bug exists in XDP7 and 6, not 5.
The stroke colour is "transmitted" to the whole shape as Rik discovered.
Thank you for your help.
I replaced the shape and exported as pdf correctly, but how the outline could make all the shape to export gray puzzles me.
Maybe it is a bug which can be corrected only by...
I received a file at work which contains a round shape which turns out gray in PDF output.
I tested XDP7 and 6, both with the same result.
I believe that the original object was created in one...
Just to add something to the work-around, I'd suggest to keep all you want to remain as vectors (i.e. text) on a layer above the rest of the drawing.
RGB conversion to CMYK values works much...
I think that the problem is due to the fact that the transparency is treated internally as RGB in Xara, while the surrounding part of your image as colours defined as CMYK.
When the pdf is generated...
Herbie,
I inserted a new layer named "TRANSP" with a transparent rectangle.
You should get a good result without removing all the graphic effects when you export as PDF.
Very nice, being simple is an advantage.
"Less is more" said the famous architect Mies Van Der Rohe.

Don't worry Antimix,
it is simply a problem of Acrobat when displaying the file, it treats "l" or "I" as straight lines not as closed shapes and then it uses a different antialiasing algorithm.
...
Sorry to inconvenience you, but I would like to point out another bug of pdf export with spot colors.
http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=46095
It would be nice if pdf output could match...
Lines with embedded arrow ends would be easier to use and very useful for quoting in a technical drawing.
Also, note that when you use an arrow to point some elements in a drawing you lose the...
Wurth,
I tested tint of the starting color, but I get the PDFNET error reported in another thread "stitching functions must have the same cardinality"
Here is the xar file.
Thank you for your...
I tested PDF export of shapes with linear fills using spot colours, which now is possible in Designer6.
I get a bug with fills using using "no color" ; Spot to Nocolor fill is totally wrong in this...
You can set to 100% transparency, but it gets impossible to grab the totally transparent object (unless you set view quality down to "outlines").
The bug in PDF output is due to the fact that the object have color defined as CMYK and graphic effects turn some areas into RGB.
One workaround I have is to export the file as CMYK tiff...
