  1. Re: XDPX crashes when pasting contents into Affinity Designer

Great, I hope you solve the crashing soon. In the process I hope you make vector information available to other apps as well. Thanks!
  2. Re: XDPX crashes when pasting contents into Affinity Designer

Interesting. I didn't try that yet.

Yes in some cases, but not a general truth, no. Also I'm sure many users such as myself have loads of artwork done in Xara so the clipboard would be...
  3. Re: XDPX crashes when pasting contents into Affinity Designer

Yes, today PDF and SVG are probably the best for interoperability. But IMHO the clipboard is still unsurpassed for speed.
  4. Re: XDPX crashes when pasting contents into Affinity Designer

Further testing revealed that CorelDRAW X5 (I don't have a newer release here) and LibreOffice also "translate" vectors from Xara into bitmaps just like AD does. Inkscape, on the other hand, maintain...
  5. XDPX crashes when pasting contents into Affinity Designer

    Hi,

I found that XDPX12 consistently crashes when I copy something from Xara to the clipboard then try to paste the clipboard contents into Affinity Designer. I posted this in the AD forum and...

Re: Failed update for Xara P&GD v11

For me it seems a lot faster. Just as previous version!

Re: Wheel / touchpad scroll way too fast

I've tested both Dell's settings and Elantech (the OEM touchpad manufacturer) settings, to no avail. XMBC is not a driver, but a Windows utility to tweak mouse/touchpad settings which I used to see...

Re: Wheel / touchpad scroll way too fast

Yes, of course I tried that, but Xara does not seem to respond to mouse wheel or touchpad settings. So even with minimum scroll speed it jumps abruptly instead of moving smoothly as other...

Re: Wheel / touchpad scroll way too fast

I've tried using X-Mouse Button Control (XMBC) which is pretty advanced and full of options. But it looks that Xara software is nonstandard when it comes to receiving mouse wheel messages, so...

Re: Wheel / touchpad scroll way too fast

Thanks. Perhaps I should make it clear that both the touchpad and the mouse wheel do work. However their response is much faster than the other apps, so the touchpad jumps meters instead of...

Wheel / touchpad scroll way too fast

    Hi,

I oftentimes find myself without a mouse and if I try scrolling using two fingers in my touchpad Xara Designer will respond incredibly fast to the finger movement so I have no control. Using...

    Re: Custom SmartShapes?

Thanks, great reply. I hope Xara does allow custom smartshapes in the future because it seems to have so many great possibilities.

    Custom SmartShapes?

SmartShapes are great. As a designer, I would love to be able to create custom ones using Xara instead of couting solely on the online libraries. I see that SmartShapes are in fact .XAR files (take a...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

Another way: using Windows magic and command-line parameters (RTM), you may use just one executable and several shortcuts. Each shortcut would point to a different XML. Example:

    Shortcut 1:...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

There is already a workaround on this one. Rename all xmls in each folder as xre.xml. Thus each executable will open its own xml.

In a future version I plan to have a combo to select between...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

Okay, I've uploaded version 1.0.4 which should be the most stable to date. Creating previosuly empty entries was a bit trickier than I expected. Hope I got it right this time. I also created an...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

I've just uploaded version 1.0.3 which (does not yet, sorry) seems to solve the crash when working with registry entries that don't exist yet. Please download it.

    Still working on it...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

This is easy, just edit the XML file as you wish.

Just make the changes you want and don't touch the others. The unaltered values will be rewritten as they were. Better yet, just delete the...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

Hmmm... Really odd, and I can't reproduce this behavior here (my version is X10, but this doesn't make sense). I don't have any ideas on what may be causing this, all nodes are updated at the same...

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

I'll look into these issues. I believe XRE does not handle well registry entries that don't exist. I'll let you know here in the forum about any news. Meanwhile, thanks for the feedback!

The executable is clean, of course. Maybe this software is overzealous. It seems you can restore the executable, see here.

Re: New tool for registry tweaking

    To all:

Just posted a new version lots of banners, please download it. I've now separated the source code from the executable which I believe will make things easier for all. The good news: I've...
