Thanks. My best friend in college (60 years ago) was blind, and through him I met most of the other blind students. Life is hard for them. That is why I set up a 35-page "accessible" website with all...
We got an inquiry from a blind man who asked if our home study courses would work for him since we use so much visualization in them. I assured him that blind people often do better than sighted...
After a month of experience with Xara's new Fit-to-width" option, I have mixed feelings.
Have you (anybody who uses the fit-to-width option) gotten any feedback from visitors?
It is a little...
Thanks Acorn, I did all that. I made sure I copied the code each time I tried it. The way it looks, the only option is to put the buttons on the side and not at the bottom, and then they cover up...
Xara has an AddThis Widget in the content catalog.
I followed their instructions and Inserted it - 3 times - and still can't find any trace of it: No widget visible on the page, on code added to...
Thank you thank you thank you! I hadn't heard about the new "fit to width" option. For me, it is the best new feature since they added Variants several years ago. I just tried it on a couple of our...
I also tried WWB. It took me a while to get started, and then I couldn't figure out how to make it responsive. Then I tried the Beaver Builder plugin for Wordpress. It didn't take nearly as long to...
Thanks for the message. Nope, haven't heard anything else from the forum. For some reason text - the individual characters - is bigger online than it is on my computer, so I am having to to all of...
I remembered that I had set the "scaling" on my computer to 110 percent, so I thought maybe that could be the problem, so I set it back to 100 percent - no difference.
But if it looks okay on your...
Can somebody help me please! Ever since I started using Xara back around version 7, I have set body text in Arial 13. But now when I view my web pages in my Chrome browser, the text stretches off the...
Not when Google keeps complaining that your pages are too wide for mobile. I have 3 variant sizes: 320px, 480px, 960px. I am pretty sure that 320px is not too wide for any modern mobile device. But...
Have you tried the ManageWP program? I am using the free version with half a dozen WP site, and it updates them automatically once a week. It also backs up all the sites once a month. It receives a...
Hmmm... nope, haven't seen it before.
Wow Acorn, that is great advice - exactly the advice I needed. I admire people who can take complex issues and simplify them. I am great doing the opposite: Taking something simple and complicating...
Looks great in Chrome. With Firefox, I get an error message: Secure connection failed. I have stopped using Firefox because it gets so many error messages... and also so many threats - warnings about...
Oh... you meant available to register. I misunderstood. Sorry 'bout that. Ed
Wow... that looks great! Better than anything I have been able to design on my own. Thanks for posting it.
Not yet??? According to who.is it is not registered to anybody.
Thanks Acorn, glad I could offer something useful to you after all the help you have been to me and others on this forum through the year. Your help has been more valuable than you can imagine. Ed
We use the Cloudflare free Flexible SSL certificate on all of our sites - about 60 sites. Works great:

I use Arial 13px for mobile sites, 320px page width. I just checked it again on the Google Mobile-Friendly tester and Google says it is fine.
Xara makes backups of your projects. Launch Xara, click on the File menu and select Backups and maybe there is a backup you can use.
I guess we have different ideas of "funny." To me, someone who expects everybody who wants to help to first read through 4 pages of posts... well, I guess that's not very funny either, IMHO.

If I were not 77 years old, blind in one eye, and dealing with the "late effects" of the polio I had in 1945 - which leaves me with very little stamina - then I would do more. My eyes tire very...
Only the first page. I was just trying to help... sorry to have upset you. Ed
