using the browse button can you not navigate [drill down] to the .exe file in the xara program folder?
yes - thats more or less how I would do it in XP
browse at least should enable you to go to the program folder and the .exe file
so 'other programs' or 'browse' did not find it?
I can't claim to be an expert on win 7 as I don't personally use it - the only win 7 computer we have does not have any xara software installed -...

you should be able to set designer to open jpgs - at least you can in XP - which windows are you using?

I am wondering if, somehow, your system has the wrong options set so that, instead of 'opening with', it is actually 'running' which would kick off the installation program - it's worth checking...
