The line length only alters with line width if you've got Square Cap or Round Cap ends. It remains the same if you use Butt Cap. It does the same as the arrows in Square Cap or Round Cap...

We sorted this one out a while ago but I can't find the post. In the shape editor tool, click on node (point) B. XXP shows you the length and angle of the line. It works on multi node lines. Just...
