Is that a metaphor for going to town on them with a sledgehammer, as is recommended by the information security people these days? :)
Wa-hey! arrived today (UK), box a bit bashed though as it was in jiffy bag.
My first Pro version - talk about feelgood factor .. the last time I got a proper manual, the software cost £15k ;))
lol! reminds me of SSK's error message :

Dithering setting makes no difference here either - maybe it's a legacy thing from the...
depending on how bad the banding is, some of it could be the fault of the monitor.. however, even getting the best monitor won't solve the problem.
The reason for this is that Xara's palette totals...
Yep, XaraStudio in 1996 I think - A friend of mine (with money) had previoously bought an Acorn RiscPC with Artworks - and I'd been dreaming of having something similar ever since.
Didn't touch it...
muhahahahaaa! >:)
That eraser bear trap had me ROTFL Rik. Inspired! ;))
Alternative method - this is for keeping colour in one part of a colour photo.
If you're starting with a B&W photo and want to colour it, this way is probably the simplest..
It will also give you results very similar to how photos were originally coloured - with painted on ink...
+1 good thought
It would not be a definitive universal list by any means, as feedback comes from many sources like you say. It would just be additional info for Xara from their biggest userbase to help them judge...
An internal wish list isn't the same as listening to your consumers.. and a top 10 wishlist for example could help them prioritise.
At the moment, they won't know how much support a 'dear xara'...
An eraser would make life easier for sure. +1 vote..
Actually, is there any way on these boards that we can rank the suggestions in Dear Xara in terms of how desperately they're wanted?
A kind...
just follow Soquili's screenshot to save a document set up the way you want it as the default. Then clicking on the new document button will work as you want it to.

Sorry, meant to say having a save as default tempalte button within the options themselves rather than having to go to 'save template' and saving as default template.
guess so.. for better in most cases and for worse in a few. ;)
I think that what Rik's after (sorry if my understanding is wrong Rik :) ) is for it to be obvious and accessible how to permanently change the standard settings.. and that's something that could...
I agree with Covoxer about the value of keeping settings within templates for different types of work.
The menu layout doesn't make this clear though, and I'm not sure a lot of users would arrive...
:) cool.. thanks!
If you've got a single area that needs cloning, then it's great.. and editable, but it's not as intuitive, fast or art-like as the clone tool in photoshop. If you have more than one area cloned in...
:) Fair enough... but I'm hoping the day comes when I won't need that keyboard shortcut I've got set up for sending images out to photoshop.
That's the point though, many people don't want to be limited to vector art in one app, and bitmap art in another, when Xara have even now shown it's possible to get very close to a functioning...
I think there are many reasons why this is the case, eg :
- It allows Adobe to have many targetted solutions for different markets (photographers don't need web functionality).
- Multiple products...
and even fewer that get the best out of both ;)
I love photoshop and Xara, but the separated vector/bitmap 2 app approach is a bit of a pain, isn't it?
