Does anyone remember a recent tutorial or forum posting that covered how to apply bi-directional fills to a single object (e.g., vertical linear plus horizontal linear)?
Thanks.

Thanks.
Gary's sparkle gel tutorial got me looking at variations on that theme.
I found that Dmitry's SPRAY utiliy could be used for some interesting gel text effects.
My two cents. (Or shillings if you are on the other side of the big pond.)
Another way using ClipView
Bright little fellow, isn't he?
I think this is the way Gary must have looked the first time he saw Xara.
Another solution using three elements: the outlines, the cloth fold, the shadow. The shadow has a linear gradient applied and is positioned just under the cloth fold. Outlines are on top.

Seagull: "Out of curiousity, any idea how long it took?"
As I recall, it was a project that evolved over several weeks. The ship was the easy part. Getting the sky, ocean, and waves as realistic...

Did I create the ship drawing in Xara? You bet! It's the only way to fly.

I've really enjoyed "Tool Time" with Xara Xtreme. I'm surprised at the number of people that have responded to this topic.
I guess I'll have to make a contribution myself.
Before subtracting the circles from the rectangle, either group them or join them.
Make sure snap to objects is selected and the circle has not been converted to an editable shape.
"Grab" the circle near its center and drag it close to the corner of the rectangle. It will snap...
The quickshape tool also works well for drawing details of the iris.
Found the problem. Internet Explorer does not natively support the multiple levels of transparency (alpha channel) offered as an export option in Xara Xtreme. However, there are HTML coding work...
Very strange. I get the same artifact in Internet Explorer. Interestingly, the problem does not occur when PNG images are imported dinto Microsoft Word documents or PowerPoint Presentations.

Quick question.
Will the recently announced Xtreme update be included on the CD's we've ordered? Will I have to download the update after I've installed my CD version of Xara Xtreme?
Charles, Gary:
Your sneak peak overview looks great. Have you developed a complete features list for Xara Xtreme?
Xara.com has an upgrade for XaraX1 on its download page (XaraX1 1.1d). I have XaraX1 version 1.1c CD. Do I need to install this upgrade?
