    Re: Animated Avatars

Gary, I'm not entirely sure, but, I think the file size has to be smaller than 20KB in order for the animation to work as an avatar. The one you are trying to get to animate is approx. 23KB.

    I...

    Re: New Book of Stereograms

Looks cool, Gary, and it's a bargain to boot. I just added a copy to my Amazon shopping cart. I'm close to getting free shipping so I need to find an inexpensive used book to seal the order.

Re: The January 2012 Tutorial Discussion

I see some very nice images as a result of this tutorial. Nice job everyone.

I've got to admit that, even though software video tutorials aren't my favorite, this has been one of the liveliest...

What a way to start off with your first post on TG. Welcome Mike.

Bang up job. Don't just stop at the clock, though. The clock would look even better with a section of fireplace mantle to sit...

    Re: The Dodecahedron

Sounds like a plan to me:
    1. Please yourself!
    2. Please the masses.
    3. Let everyone else catch up, if they please!

I look forward to your next tutorial.

BTW, the Taming and Grooming Xara...

    Re: The Dodecahedron - A 12-sided Die

Thanks Gary. The 12-sided die was just a 'quickie'. I think I might have another go and try to construct a more photo-realistic die with some supporting scenery.

As to video tutorials, I like...

    Re: The Dodecahedron - A 12-sided Die

Congratulations on The 'New' Xara Xone and the first tutorial of the revamped site and the new year, GDB. The Xone is looking good, and different.

I found the video tutorial entertaining. Beyond...
  9. Re: Back again - just wanted to thank everyone, plus ask about erasers

One way to erase without having a dedicated 'Eraser Tool' in Xara Xtreme, Xara Photo & Graphic Designer, and Xara Designer Pro.

OK, maybe it's more constructive to demonstrate why a dedicated...
  10. Re: Back again - just wanted to thank everyone, plus ask about erasers

Say what? Let the buyer beware of what, exactly? All Xara products come with a fully functional 30 day trial and a full 30 day money back guarantee. Almost 60 full days to discover if you like...

    Re: More questions about Erasers...

Erasers? Nope, you still don't need them. Coleen, try 'Locking' the 'Live Effect' before performing any Add, Subtract, Intersect, Slice, etc. operations on an object with a 'Live Effect' applied to...
  12. Re: Back again - just wanted to thank everyone, plus ask about erasers

Toonicorn, on the other side of the coin, I've been using Xara products for 3 years, or so, and haven't thought once about using or needing an eraser tool. Other tools, yes! An eraser, no. Vector...

Re: can't open .xar file in XaraXtreme4

Cheryl, give the attached file a try and see what you can do with it. I opened your snowman10 file in XDP6 and saved it, then I reopened it in XXP4 and resaved it for you.

    Maybe you'll get...
