I have exactly the same problem. Is the patch available somewhere or do I have to ask xara support for it?
I do a lot of simple illustrations which rarely exceed 16 colours but I want to export them as PNG files at relatively high resolution. My copy of Xara defaults to a Trucolor setting and 96 dpi which...
Thanks everyone. I tried Keith's method and it worked very well. I enlarged the scanned image in Xara to 1000% and then was able to trace both sides of each line using a 0.25 pix line width. I then...
Lifehacker.com put me onto this mehod for creating a scanned signature using Photoshop to create a PNG file - see http://www.productivity501.com/how-to-create-a-scanned-signature/357/.
I use Xara...
I'd like to see the ability to simply drag n' drop into the gallery much the same way as you can drag n' drop out of the gallery. A dialog box should come up and allow you to enter data. This feature...
But I want to drag 'n drop them in vector (.XAR) format.
Thanks for the responses.
How would you save a part of an open drawing in the clipart gallery for use at another time? Before I moved over to Xara I used a program called Professional Draw. It allowed me to drag a whole...
You can dra n' drop images out of the Clipart Galery. It would be great if you could rag n' drop into a gallery as well. I requested this last time this thread was open but to no avail.
Has anyone got any tips as regards setting up Xara so that it can be used to draw scaled landscape drawings? What I have in mind is producing A1 size drawings using a scale of something like 1:100.
Thanks for the help! Just what I needed...especially the tip about the beer!
I would like to create a landscape drawing that contains lawn and paving. If I use a textured fill such as the one in the attached xar file it is the wrong scale for the drawing I have done. In this...
Can anyone give me a clue as to what is causing the following error in XE?
Serious error from Xara Extreme
Access violation at offset 0x087F1134
It occurs when I double click on a scanned image...
Thank you very much for your generous gift. I have done a Google on Illy and Ian's symbols and got no hits. Could you tell me more?

Does anyone know of a source for landscape symbols e.g. trees, bushes, benches, fountains etc?
Ever since my first Xara purchase many years ago I have wanted to be able to drag n' drop my objects into a library of some sort. Although Xtreme Pro does allow you to drag 'n drop from the clipart...
Wonderful tip!
Once you have fiddled with the letters and in effect created you own font is there any way you can save the 'font' so that it appears in the font list when you use the text tool?

I have just upgraded to Xtreme Pro and I even appear to have been allocated a serial number. However whenever I attempt to unlock the program I get a 'Connect to Xara' error message which reads: The...
Hi Egg
Really enjoy your tutorials. What software do you use to create them?

Does anyone know the best way to create a torn paper effect? I often use news items in powerpoint slides and it would be nice to present them as if I had torn the item out of the newspaper so that...
In an earlier post about arrow heads I included the following drawing which as you can see has been made up with a rectangular shape and some extra lines. I can't now remember how I arrived at a...
The other issue I have with arrow heads is that you appear to be stuck with a given arrow head length. Is there any easy way of changing the arrow head (apart from the ones offered to you in the...
Thanks for this. I have tried 'Amazing Photo editor' which claims to be able to do the job but then says that it only converts GIF 89 (whatever that means!) files. Xara GIFs clearly aren't GIF 89's...
Hi from DownUnder!
You've made the best choice, Hans! This progam is excellent! And the biggest bonus is this forum! Not only does it provide an incredible database of techniques and advice but...
I'm afraid Xara3D does not work (or at least I can't get it to work!). It does not offer Animated GIFs as an import option and if you import using the All files option nothing happens. On the other...
