Yes, I have finally been commissioned to illustrate somebody else's book!
It's a story of a Mexican boy helping his Grandma to make Tamales for a Christmas treat, and includes a recipe for making...
And there happens to be an Armadillo passing through at the same time? Highly unlikely!
Graphics and a few animated elements created in Xara, based on my book "Armadillo". All visuals, spoken word, animation, music and production by me. Motion animation, effects and compositing created...
Here are all my animated videos so far. All graphics and some animated elements were created in Xara, while motion, effects and compositing were all done using VideoMeld.
"The Ballad of Cormac...
Another animated video for one of my instrumentals. Graphics and animated elements (the flowing water, raindrops and swimming fish) were created in Xara, exported as PNG or AVI files, and then...
A video for my instrumental "De Profundis".
All graphics and character animations were created in Xara and exported as AVI files. Production, compositing and motion animation were done using...
Damn - it's coming up as a JPG! :(

Regarding egg-to-chick, Xara can definitely do this, and in this case I would guess very well. The issue is more to do with the intermediate stages.
No, it is a true morph, just not particularly controllable. I only created two keyframes, and the exported animation contains tweened frames generated by Xara. It will work with any simple shapes...
Not at all. I would expect a trapezium to morph into a rectangle in a predictable way, with each vertex moving in a straight line to its counterpart in the target shape (top left -> top left, etc)....
Just for fun, here's another Xara-created animation, this time for "Birdland" by Weather Report:

Those are less critical. The issue arises when I want to morph from (say) a trapezium to a rectangle, in a way that suggests changing perspective. Xara is almost wilfully not doing that. Same for...
I have been doing quite a lot of animation, using Xara Designer Pro for graphics and for creating short AVI sequences. You can do proper morphs between shapes when exporting in this mode.
However,...
Anyone remember my second book, "Armadiilo"? It's the story of a Peruvian armadillo who wants to visit London Zoo, and travels there by DC3, ocean liner, train and Underground, via Rio de Janeiro and...
As a keen musician and guitar enthusiast, I had the idea of a guitar colouring book, to be self-published as a large (8 1/2" x 11") paperback. The instruments are all hand-traced from photos, using...
It's on my website now, and I have received the first printed proof from Lulu.com! All being well, it'll be available to order by the beginning of next week! Meanwhile, here are all the finished...
Finally took the plunge and upgraded from XaraXtreme Pro 4 to Xara Designer Pro. It's got some cool features, but above all it is still as easy to use as CorelXara was when I first started using...
Thanks for the feedback - I'll take another look at the layout. The poems are not mine; only the illustrations!
