Looks great, Ron. I reckon you could nail it without using a bitmap too.

Thank you. If you prefer it to be morning that's cool.
Thanks, Gray.
Thanks Penny. I think colours can really make or break an image. These were my initial colours, but next time I might try different colour schemes once the image has been finished, before publishing...
Thanks, Ron. I put those in last minute. Thankfully, it's so easy with the flip buttons being right there in the tool bar.
Thank you.
Thanks, Tim.
That's a nice way to describe it. Thank you.
Happy New Year, everyone.
I've not done any vector work for a while, but for this year, I want to do stuff on a more regular basis. Felt the need to do something last night, so came up with this...
I had a go at using the isometric grid and the 'snap to grid' feature a couple of years ago. I did this, but I did really struggle because I thought that whatever I drew being snapped to the grid...
Hehe, like it!
Thanks everyone.
Yeah, I guess I was inspired by that sort of style - I love the 'clean' feel of modern app graphics.
Did this one a couple of years ago. Again, just a little experiment - not quite sure where I was going with it.

That's superb, Ron. The changes you've made with the lighting really help it 'pop'.
The gradient is pretty smooth in Xara, but I gave it a bit of a tweak in Lightroom. Perhaps adding a subtle vignette in post 'munged' it up a bit when exporting. I need to keep a closer eye on colour...
I'm not sure it needs anything. It's a great piece - the polished wood texture at the base is great, and I only just noticed the bow hanging on the stand on my second look. Nice one!
I hadn't considered it personally, though it might be an interesting thing to try. Thanks.
Thank you. That's interesting. From what I can see on Google, his images convey the scars of war. I'm trying to convey the beauty of Wales with my vector images - but I do like to draw the old...
Thank you. You're right. I'm yet to find my style in general, but yes, I reckon the sky needs some attention. Perhaps some fluffy clouds.
So, I started working on this one last week, but got waylaid doing the Carmarthen Fans piece. Coming back to it, I'm not so happy with it, but wanted to finish it anyway. I've promised myself not to...
Like it a lot. The gradients are so subtle.
I agree, and as much as it kills my mouse-hand doing these, I like knowing it's an actual 'hand-crafted' piece as opposed to the result of a filter or plugin. I will stick at it. I have another piece...
You're welcome!
Thank you. Ah, Trinity St David's? I was born in Wales, but lived in Sussex most of my life. I relocated here last year and can safely say the scenery has got my creative juices flowing!
Thanks. I've tried the bitmap tracer before, but found it didn't quite do what I wanted to achieve. It gives a pleasing effect, but not always as stylized as I would like. I'm not sure about Vector...
