Yeah, could be they've changed the way Luminance encodes the JPEGs, maybe they also noticed the issue.

Great, glad to hear this! And thank you. Will this fix become available in an update for Xara 2013?
Thanks for testing this.
When opening the .jpg in GIMP, it gives a dialog about an embedded color profile. Not sure if it's related, but maybe.
The originals from the camera were JPGs, but several of them (3-5) are combined into one in Luminance, then the result is exported into a new JPG. If I open this JPG in GIMP and re-export it, the...
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Here's the original image I had this issue with:

(1.5 MB)
The photo looks OK when viewed in...
I've occasionally created some tone-mapped pictures from multiple exposure brackets using the Luminance HDR program. But when I import the jpegs exported from Luminance to Xara, their Red and Blue...
You mean something like Wacom Cintiq? Sure, but they are not multi-touch. Multi-touch support brings some interesting possibilities to user interface design.
Just cherishing the thought. It's not...
Now... this is probably a pretty marginal group of users, but I'm soon getting myself one of them Asus T91 netbooks and started thinking. Windows 7 natively supports multi-touch, and there are...
... yes, that's the one I linked to in my previous message. Yes, it has helped people. *pats Xhris on the back* My diagram continued on the subject, and explained how to use the Stained Glass...
Related to the open, filled shapes trick, here's another trick: if you fill your open paths with white (black outlines), you can use the open filled paths to create protrusions and overlapped shapes....
+1 from me too. Hope that helps the cause.
Are you sure it's not a "must have" for many Xara users? After watching Bob Hahn's Youtube video on drawing a cartoon dog head, I just kept asking...
Oh, that's what the Contour tool is for. It has steps in it, but if you give it enough steps, it will look like a gradient.
Or are you looking for something different?
How does it fail to work? Does the executable not start at all? You need to extract the ZIP with the correct sub-folder structure, I think.
Just tried the application myself. It crashed occasionally, and I couldn't get some of the mentioned features (blur, load bitmap) to work. Anyone else having problems?
After having my initial...
Something very interesting - and commercially potential - from Siggraph:

Quicker and simpler than gradient meshes. Xara could step miles ahead of its...
Topic rescurrect. For me, this issue became current when Xara Xtreme 4.0 was released. I had just a bit before that bought Xara3D, and now that the 4.0 has the extrude feature built in, I now have...
Nice post, great rules of thumb there!
..... aaaaand if you want to get technical and complex about it, there's a whole book on the subject: Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery by Burne Hogarth.
Remi, which 3D Editor was that done with? Was it SketchUp Pro?
Thanks!
You can also do coloring effects by applying transparency to the bitmap, and placing a colored rectangle with a transparency effect on top of and behind it.
Or, you can try this: I...
Yup, quality cartoon work, this!
BTW, how did you do the outlines and the colors? Did you place the outlines in one layer and color fill shapes in another layer below it, or did you use...
Thanks for the comments, guys! :)
That's often my perception of it too. Pencil sketches have a lot more 'life' to them because you can see the artist's handiwork better, how s/he has searched...
Looking much better now, MarkMyWords!
I also like the way you've used colored outlines instead of black ones. It works well in cartoon art.
Er... that's an actual typo, not a grammar...
This is quality cartoon art. Great work! Youve put Xara's stroke widths to good use.
Um, spotted another spelling error. :o Shouldn't it be spelt "ecstasy" not "ecstacy"?
A heavily armed and armored ratling thingy wielding his retractable chainblade weapon. This is meant to be a part of a website design, but the site is still heavily under construction so I thought...
Oh my, I managed to achieve an internal program error. I created a neat 2-dimensional matrix blend, then changed the object in the upper left corner to a shape ("convert line to shape"). The blend...
