I can't really see why Xara would not want to make these options more easily accessible to users who wish to tweak them.
An "advanced" checkbox in the options dialog could determine whether they...
Very nice - always good to have an effect that can be changed without having to rebuild it.
Yay! Glad you got it working :)
Thanks for the original question - I feel I learnt something in the process too.

The technique works because...
A group will (by default) rotate about its centre point.
The size / shape of a group is defined by the size and shape of everything it contains.
The circles that...
Here is a neat workaround for the centre of rotation issue that this question inspired me to invent...
Draw a large circle centred at the point about which you wish your target object to rotate,...
Agreed - the new flyout is pretty aggravating!
Sledger's answer only applies if the objects that you want to modify are all clones / instances of the same base object.
I interpret your query as wanting a method of selecting a number of unique...
New type styles are a great addition and will really help with any design job involving type. Thank you devs.
But there are still some basic text functions missing that stop Xara from being a true...
Also key presses can be very useful in place of the mouse slider.
When the text tool is in use:

I asked the same question 3 years ago!
Grouping does not preserve layers - everything moves to one layer by design.
Soft grouping however does preserve layers. Keypress is Ctrl+Alt+G and Ctrl+Alt+U (from memory!?!)
Loved the tutorial and also the redesign of XaraXone - thanks to all involved.
Thanks for the confirmation Gary.
Scotty: I understand what you are saying, but it isn't quite what I was referring to...

Is it possible to change the alignment of text within a text area?
By default the text is located top left. Horizontal justification can make this top centre or top right, but how about bottom...

Thanks for confirming the bug Frances.
How should I go about officially reporting this bug? Could a moderator move this thread into the Dear Xara forum?
Not sure if this bug existed prior to the most recent update or not, but...

dvector: Your GUI mock up looks pretty darned good to me!
@Gary - I agree! It seems to me that it is not a trivial task and that there are only two really good solutions...
1) Model the object to be mirrored in 3D and allow a renderer to do all the maths...
Another (more forgiving) angle on the render...

This is not a criticism of the OP but this exact question gets asked on a weekly basis and is, I hasten to add, always answered very politely.
But I wonder whether a definitive answer (covering...
If only it were so easy - I'm afraid your reflection is the wrong way up!
Although the angle is correct, the rim of the pot in the reflection MUST be touching the actual rim of the pot (since this...
Today's challenge was to create an artificial reflection beneath an irregularly shaped object.
In the past I've been asked to add reflections where the reflection is simply a plane that cuts...
