First, let me say that I do not consider myself any kind of an artist. (well, maybe a bad one!) The only art classes I ever had were in high school, and that was in the 70's! I just enjoy creating...

I have just tried this in XDP6 and I can group objects, skew them and ungroup them with the skew remaining applied. same with rotation and re-sizing.

Hmmmm, That bear looks awfully familiar Steve! :D

If the rectangles are all the same width, create one, duplicate it twice (so you have 3) and resize one x10 (IE, if the original is 100 px wide, make the duplicate 1000) align the two smaller...

And just to add, to have it as your default template, check "use as default template" :D

I use PowerPro to do things like this. (in other programs, not Xara). It does hot keys, macros, button bars, menus and more that can be context sensative and may be good for your small needs...
