What you perceive as advantages-trivialities to me.
Good for you, and that's YOUR opinion, nothing more. So go buy from him already if you feel that strongly.
Whatever, I really couldn't care now-I bought from Xara.
In an earlier post from Albert, I got the impression that they had CDs only, no downloadable purchases as Xara has. And Sparwood BC Canada is 300-400 miles (or whatever) away from Vancouver. Hardly...
Thanks, that settles it then for me. Prices seem to be virtually the same. But if I order from Xara directly there is no waiting for several weeks with the download.
Yes, as I mentioned in my previous post, I was looking for the upgrade from XXP4 and Web Designer because that is what I now have! ;)
Ok, if you go to this page:

Hi Albert,
I am in Vancouver and had a look at upgrade pricing on the Pardooz site.
It seems that I can get XXP 5 upgrade from XXP4+Web Designer for $25.40?
Is that an electronic download?

Looks like the Dodge brush might do the trick. Go to the Photo Brushes and use the 'Dodge' brush for lighter accents and the 'Burn' brush for darker accents.
BTW-it's a good idea to play around...
Richtoon, have you tried using the Wacom Tablet Properties in the Control Panel to adjust the screen/tablet settings? Have a look at the Mapping settings and make sure to have Painter open when you...
Do what you want and ban me now, that's what you want to do anyway.
The only reason that you even wanted to be Moderator was the fascist ego trip that gets you off.

And the sad part is that the MS Mega fanboys would obediently line up to spout the praises of the latest marketing gimmick that bears little resemblence to actually needed features.
'Ribbon bars'...
The ribbon bar is already outdated. MS now says that Windows 8 will have one big 10cm square icon in the middle of the screen. They say it's yet another example of innovative thinking from MS! :p

And society at large is also the place where good teachers, plumbers , policemen, architects and X comes from. ;)

+1. Could not agree more
Oh, misguided one, you actually want to be productive and get some work done? Shame, shame on you, you're supposed to be staring at the boo-ti-ful ribbon interface all...
I don't know why you quoted all those articles, they didn't say much at all.
Look-you obviously like this 'new' ribbon look. To me it's just a big waste of space. MS has run out of marketing...
Exactly what is supposed to be so special about the 'ribbon' interface? I've seen it before and it just looks like they use large icons. Big deal.
For some great examples of what can be done in Xara, including traditional looking drawing/illustrating, have a look at the Xara Gallery:

Swords are too violent by today's standards. I think when they give you a knighthood the Queen slaps you on each cheek with a wet mackerel-or maybe it's a flounder? Hmm...

So...that would make you the NGriffin formerly known as Burpee?
Or...something like...that? <cough!> :p

Of course it couldn't just be a 'script' type font instead of real handwritting, could it? No, that would ruin the elaborate conspiracy theory that you concocted...erm ...um...investigated, ya,...
1)Open Xara Web Designer
2)Open the HELP menu
3)Click on Download Templates. Your web browser will open and your download will start when you click on 'Save File'
Thanks Steve. VLC it is! Problem solved! :-)
