    can't speak for CC, but when i squish i do it on the fly until it 'looks right' by just moving the one handle; anything more complicated is not going to cut it

    but croping is not what the OP wants to do, he just wants to squish and as you said, smart transform off for that... your second image is another question...

    not all changes can be saved in a default template

    you may have better luck using a default style - but I don't use these, but if they do I'm sure another member will help out...

    paintstorm studio looks interesting... rebelle looks more like artrage or corel painter, not that you can tell for sure without trying...

    I'm not a painter - I trained as one but I found cartooning [in the modern sense] was a lot more me



    neither can xara gradients...

    painttool sai is a manga/cartooning tool at heart...

    the alt key is not a workaroud - it is a new way of doing it

    I would have preferred it to stay the old way too, but it has changed

    I sometimes use an old version to get round stuff like that

    xara did this because they consider the majority of their users use photgraphs which they do not want distorted and would rather have...
