It looks like you have Window XP?. Xara usually dumps its file.bak in c:\Windows\temp for Win98.

I notice you're still using a PCI Graphics card. If your Motherboard has an AGP Slot it would be worth it to buy a good AGP Graphics card and double your graphics power?.

Assuming you've installed Xara's latest patch 2.1 - Try a upgrading to the latest graphics card drivers or try borrowing another graphics card and see if you can recreate the error.

Okay so you didn't name the file you were working on - Is there any file .bak or .tmp in Windows/temp with a time stamp about the time of your crash? (It should have a sizeable file size)

Check your Windows/temp folder for the same file name but with a .bak or .tmp extension.

If you're lucky and its there - rename it filename.xar and try and open it.

Well I've bought my copy and on opening a early CX2 drawing I did which had a lot of 'nodes' of a coastal map, and redraw was always very slow in anti-aliased view but now its like...instant redraw!...
