I got a lovely new telescope - a Skywatcher Skymax 102 SynScan AZ GOTO - cost about £370 all told and I had to buy most of it myself, but well worth it.

I've created a fair few websites in my time and all I've ever used is filezilla. It's also the one which is most suggested to newbies on the developer forums I frequent.
Free and very functional....
