    Re: Should Xara's interface change?

I find it very annoying when changes are made to a program interface. I have made an investment in learning and becoming proficient with one way of working. I do not want to lose that...

    Re: Exporting to emf

emf is a proprietary file format by Microsoft. emf is NOT an open source file format. emf is the enhanced version of wmf, which M$ used for more than 10 years before M$ was forced to publish its...

    Re: Exporting to emf

It appears that Xtreme exports the emf file as a bitmap, not a vector. The exported emf files will not do what you want: be resizeable without pixelation and be transparent.

    If you want a file...

    Re: Exporting to emf

I don't normally use EMF, but I verified that it saves up-side-down on my PC.

Have you tried using the png format. When you export as png, select "True color + Alpha" for Color depth. I imported...

Re: IFrames (exporting the HTML to an IFrame)

What do you mean by "flicker"? Firefox reads common graphics from cache and I don't normally see common graphic elements flicker when moving between pages. IE6 flickers occasionally but most of the...

Re: Changing the page size moves my stuff down

I miss the days of programming in TinyBASIC, which only had about 25 commands. :D I used to be conversant in several programming languages in those days. Now, modern languages have so many...

Re: Changing the page size moves my stuff down

I have never added it to a page, but I access web pages that force printer page breaks with the following code:

    <div style="page-break-before: always"></div>

Re: My restaurant and take-away X4 website

It took just under 10 seconds to load on my system. I have a T1, but there are probably 100+ users on it.

This website optimization page calculates that your webpage can take up to 13 seconds to...

Re: Website Help - Created in Xara 4.0

Another benefit to combining images is that each file used for a web page takes time to access and download because each file must be accessed and transmitted independently. You may have noticed...

Re: Show Us Your Xtreme 4 created Website!

From my observations, the search engines extract indexing info from filenames. Other than index.html, I always use meaningful names for filenames, even graphic files. Of course, if you are not...

Re: Add color from drawing to color line

Unfortunately, Xara has a history of making interface changes that disrupt long-time users' workflow. There is another long-running thread that discusses restoring the space bar to its previous...

    Re: Multiple pages and layers

If you want to have different layers for each page, I think the layer gallery would help. If the page numbers are fixed, you could organize the layer names by including the page number in the name....

Re: My restaurant and take-away X4 website

The green strips were neat. :D But, the problem I had navigating the page was that there were too many options (links) on the page and they overlapped.

As a user, I would not know if clicking...

    Re: Multiple pages and layers

Almost all my drawings are multi-page documents (usually 4 to 12 pages). In fact, I originally upgraded to Pro version 3 for the multi-page feature.

My default template has 7 defined layers with...

    Re: Multiple pages and layers

It gets better. I've noticed strange layer behavior before, but never paid attention to it.

If you hide a layer in a saved file, the layer is hidden on all pages. Normally, this is what I want...

Re: My restaurant and take-away X4 website

Re: EPS exports - Adobe Illustrator

Re: My restaurant and take-away X4 website

I like it. The design is elegant, yet functional. (I'm an engineer, not an artist!)

Are the icon buttons (pizza to sundae) related to the buttons (Indian to Mid East)? If so, you may want to...
