I do have the Feathering pallet on the left. I am unable to Alt click the icon and do anything with it.

I did, but with no luck. if I try real hard I can move some of the others but this one is impossible for me to access. Wonder why they took it off the pallet.

In older versions, the feather edges tool use to be on top. not it only exists in the button pallet. when i try to move it, I can't as it just won't "grab" my mouse. Frustrating. I must be...

In the past, I had no problem with using the feathering tool. Now, it seems like 90% of the objects do not allow the use of the feathering tool. what happened?

I see the color select in the full button pallet, and use it often to remove the white background from an image, but i'd love to not have to go so deep to find and use it. Does it exist somewhere...

When I click on an object corner point, and try to resize it, I get the 4 way arrows (not the diagonal double arrow bar) and the resizing does not keep the aspect. Is it a setting or a bug.

ok, it was an idea, but it didn't come out very well. seems like a large deforming tool would work. ONe might think that reflections are reasonably popular, and that there would be a specific tool.
