Re: upgrade of web designer 5 to 7

    Thanks for your reply.
Do I read that right? The product lost features???
Come to think of it I don't recall seeing a V6. What I'd like is to see is the difference from 5, but if I read you...

upgrade of web designer 5 to 7

    Hi there,
Am coming back to Xara after a long time away :-)
Not a heavy user/designer at all, mainly look for ease-of-use.
Is it worth me upgrading to 7 from 5?

    BTW: Couldn't see an upgrade...

Re: Using XWD as a prototyper only

    Hi Woody,
It is the silence from above re this rather glaring problem that worried me.

RE-inventing - yes, not good, but I can't see much alternative so far.
The breakup of the files suggested...

Re: Using XWD as a prototyper only

Actually, it looks more and more like a "pigeon pair" to me. The design (prototyping) ability of XWD is amazing. Its origins in imaging sure show through!
But the full suite of "extras" in WYSIWYG...

Re: Using XWD as a prototyper only

    Hi neodist,
THANK YOU for your post of a non-trivial effort answer!
Aside from the FTP problem solution, it is a great organising idea.

    Re: Publish help please

    Hi John,
Yes, XWD is an excellent prototyper - AND pretty easy, quite a low learning curve for its power.
BUT - You do certainly need to use a separate program to make good use of it. Actually, for...

Re: Using XWD as a prototyper only

    Hi Neodist,
AHHHH, this sounds like my original vague idea/hope! Not sure if I understand the implementation though - but we are then talking about separate "projects", are we not?
    Then, e.g.,...

Re: Using XWD as a prototyper only

    Hi Slavelle,
It sure does help. The xampp alone is valuable. :)
An awful lot of design material is "borowed" at these early stages.

Re "losing" the image locations: That does seem logical if...

Using XWD as a prototyper only

    Hi people,
As a newby I keep finding good things to do in XWD and am impressed by its abilities as a prototyper, but unimpressed with what I've *understood* about its Site structure handling. I'm...

    Re: Publish help please

    Hi there,
There are many reasons if running a serious bizness.....
    1. EVERY change has to be verified "out there". (Even GOOD designers will blow it regularly.)

    2. Every day the Net gets worse...

    Re: Publishing: Specific Page/Changes Uploads...

    Hi Bill,
An answer from "on high" about a fix for this would seem a big priority to me - esp. if one can't be seen forthcoming! :(

Meanwhile back in the salt mine:
So how does one operate a...

If another FTP program is used to upload minor changes, are there potential problems with XWD's "management" of the Site?

    Hi people,
    Am I missing something here?
I just auto-resized my screen to 800x600 and it is fine - for someone stuck with 800x600. In fact I'm writing in it now, instead of my usual 1024x768....
