    Re: U.S. Polar Vortex

Hope you guys all stay warm and safe in the cold weather there.

Conversely, there is currently a major heatwave in Melbourne, Australia ... with temperatures in the 40's (and up to 44 degs C).

Re: Supermarine Spitfires Over Their Homeland.

That's a superb piece of work Gray.

The lighting and atmosphere you've created is exceptional as is the detail on the planes; can't imagine how long it took to complete.

    Overall this definately...

Re: Keyboard shortcut to change line width

Not a perfect solution, but something which might make it a bit quicker (or less mouse clicking) than changing widths / stroke shapes using the line gallery menu etc, might be to create a 'palette'...

Looks like you've got plenty of excellent options here Mike. Also Roman did a very good metallic effect back in 2001.

Thanks for your comments Gary, Rik and Egg.

Gary: I hadn't considered anything to do with pregnancy tests, only things I thought it might be 'mistaken' for were maybe the Playboy logo or...

    Re: Minimalist Poster April 2013

    Here's my go.

I'm not very good at minimalist stuff, as I usually tend to overdraw things. So it was interesting to try to encapsulate the movie with as few objects and as plainly as possible.

Re: Minimise, Maximise and Close Buttons

I rarely use full screen mode either, but have just had a look (in Xtreme 5) at the top menu bar that drops down on hover. It is missing the close, minimize etc as already mentioned, but here's the...

Wow looking pretty nifty there Ron. Love what you've done with the wheel design.

I'll take one in um ... thinks for a moment ... silver and teal or maybe a cherry red, right-hand drive of course....

    Great scribbles everyone. =D>

This is what the line put me in mind of ... the iconic Jaws poster. The burger is just in keeping with the well-known-purveyor-of-fast-food theme that has appeared...

Lol Rik, well I suppose you could say at least they had a sense of humour about the uselessly (but scarily necessary) obvious warning, even if it was a sarcastic one.

    Re: Please help a newbie

    Hi lemelman

Dragging the end of the lines to finish the join, as mentioned by tx200man, is probably the most popular way and is pretty easy to do.

But you can also still create a symmetrical...

Re: How do I do this is Xara?

Ok thanks Larry for letting me know.

I am wondering if it is how the line is being drawn in the first place, if for example you use the freehand and brush tool, you can end up with more nodes. ...

Re: How do I do this is Xara?

Rik: yes the 1:1 can only be set once your lines are a blend, before I set it I had a similar issue, just not as 'messed up' as in your example.

One thing you might want to check: If you select...

Re: How do I do this is Xara?

    Hi Citywolf

For the curving lines I would use a blend rather than a brush.

To get the lines the correct shape to blend with and to get a stripey effect: Draw your curved line at 48pt, convert...
