Yes, thats the way I did the install each time (disabled Avast AV first).

This is a work pc, so will have another go tomorrow.

Wouldn't have thought that CPU was an issue really. Processor is AMD Athlon at ~ 2GHz.

I had already tried installing a later driver from Trust's website this morning with no luck so I had deinstalled that and reverted to the XP driver that worked OK...
