Linking flash placeholder to pop up layer.
I have inserted an animated Flash object using a placeholder into a webpage.
I want to be able to open up a pop up layer when clicking on this object, but it doesn't seem to work. I have used the placeholder web properties to specify the flash animation, and the link properties to specify the link..
I think I am doing everything correctly, am I missing something?
Can anyone help.
Re: Linking flash placeholder to pop up layer.
Place an object the same size as your flash animation over the placeholder and link it to the pop up layer.
Apply 98% transparency. (If the object is 100% transparent, you won't be able to select it.

Fantastic, not something I would have thought of.
Why do the links not work. the help files says it is possible.

Re: Linking flash placeholder to pop up layer.
I think you can add a link when you create a swf file in Xara to an external website, but I tried and was not able to link the flash file directly to the pop up layer. I also tried to link from Web Designer to another page and to an external URL without any luck.
And sledger pointed out to me that the rectangle will work if it is 100% transparent and you can select it from the Page and Layer Gallery > Layers area.

Thanks. I had problems with an external website as well. The link just did not work.

Re: Linking flash placeholder to pop up layer.
I added the link to a simple Flash animation I created in Xara in the animation window.
The transparent overlay will work as well.
