I actually do not have Xara X, but I am working on it. I have made a bundle of pictures like that one that all have the same type of look and style. I used Jasc PSP 8 to make them. I would upload another pic here, but I've tried twice and the first one said, that I exceeded the upload limit (585 KB) and then i resized the image and saved and tried again, and it said that I exceeded the limit again, but this time it said that the limit was 300KB. Does anyone know what's goin on? ha ha.

Bill,
Nice blend lamp.
Egg,
I think trains have that effect on most of us. They're magical http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Akeela,
Very nice blade. The floor shadow makes it look as though it is holding itself up.
Dominique,
Very nice avatar ... love the flame!
Bobby,
585k http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif You should try to keep the images below 100k. XaraX has a wonderful export preview which gives you a great deal of control over the finished product.

Hi Ed,
You can drop the quality down to 70% for stuff on the web and the pics will still look good but the size will be much less...
On Gif's drop the color count as far as you can get away with. I have created 500 pixel banner that where less than 15k. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

This time I processed a scanned photo of my sons Thomas (5½) and William (2½) twice, first making a line-art bitmap and tracing it with XaraX's Bitmap Tracer and the second time using Dmitry's Raster.exe. After deleting the white layer from the Raster group I converted the ellipses to editable shapes to allow them to be saved to file(!).
Quite a nice result, I think, with more detail and character than just the half-tone.
