Further work-in-progress on my "dream" picture
Hello again! I've been hard at work on my "Dream" (working title) picture, for which I'm using both PSE4 and Xara, and I'd love some feedback on it. (Please click on the image for a larger view). Note: the airship is almost all Xara!

Hi Toonicorn, that's really lovely.

That is one very cool airship, I love it :)

Thank you, Angelize and handrawn. The idea behind the picture is that of a little boy's daydream. A few more details, like a smiling sun (that's the pale orange orb at the top of the picture), a rainbow, and a hot-air balloon, are going to be added). Do you think I'm overdoing it with details and colors?

Not yet but you could easy enough. I would be interested to see where you place those additional elements. If you want some constructive criticism there are a couple small nitpick areas that I don't like. Such as the yellow shape which I assume is a shadow cast by the right front leg onto the yellow circle. Same goes for the small yellow shape touching the right back leg. Other than that I like it. Colors seem to go together well and the composition works too.
Re: Further work-in-progress on my "dream" picture
take care with the style
the way you have done the body of the picture, the clouds and the moon particularly with that face which is being lasso'd by a boy on a horse sailing across a circle, it has a distinct pre-WWII retro feel to me
the rather excellent airship, with the rather cool and twisted perspecctive is, on the otherhand, far more 1960's
now that doesn't matter, especially if you are not an art historian, but you can certainly overdo it; some motifs clash, just like some colours do
but so far so good

Is that a Clydesdale? Beautiful illustration and interesting the way you have worked in both Xara and Photoshop.

it's impressing.. it can be used as a logo or flyer

Don’t be put off by others about the amount of content you have in your picture. Just cram it all in and then you can play around with scale and position. If you feel that something is not working for you you can delete it. So go ahead, knock yourself out it’s your picture.
I think it’s great, keep us posted.
