Unless your computer is a dinosaur (ie; Last century in PC terms :)), everyone is likely to have at least a DVD rom drive by now.
Not true - My office computer is a P4 3.4GHz IBM Thinkcentre - And it only has a CD reader.
Odd - I've never come across a P4 system here that doesn't.
Work computers are configured by the IT dept. with approval from managers or whatever.
Managers wouldn't want you watching movies when you're supposed to be working :D
Fair enough too under those conditions. But DVD = Digital Versatile Disc, it just so happened that the medium was suitable for full length movies (and succeeded the Laser disc) that DVD became synonomous with 'Video'.
It doesn't follow that you will watch movies simply because you have a drive capable of playing a Digital 'Video' Disc. It's the increased data storage capacity that DVD is capable of which is important - especially for backups of business databases and so on.
BTW: You can watch movies from a CD also if it's a DivX/Xvid .avi type :)
DVD player only - no burner. Not yet into the 21st century
Doovdé, yes :)Quote:
Do you have a DVD drive on your main computer?
Wouldn't a better question be, do you have a DVD burner?
Maybe the question is for plans to market Xara on DVD disks though, is that the reason?
