How to make a sparkle?

Hi all, I am trying to figure how to get a few sparkles on my Logo. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Have a look on the Xone Gary has done a few sparkles with brushes and with objects: http://www.xaraxone.com/

Depends on if your text is to sparkle as is (static) or is to be animated.

If animated, one only needs to change position and frequency to achieve a sparkle effect.

I gave the sparkle thing a try but when I export it does not look as nice as the original, kinda of blurred. Whats the best method for exporting to make it look like the original?

As for getting your exported image to look as good as what you see on the screen, work at 1:1 (100% Zoom). Then what you see should be pretty much what you get on export.

Or you could make them from the quick shapes star if you want bigger sparkles.

as far as i know to export like what you see you need to select options and then adjust the quality of the output. well thats what i have to do anyway.

andfarr are they hand made letters? willing to give out the .xar file?

I just played around with the logo for 20 minutes before heading to bed. It doesn't look really sparklish at all but its still an interesting effect.
I haven't finished the 'spark'-bubbles in Xara which I used as several layers as a textures on the logo. They look more like bloodcells than anything. Oh well, at least it was fun ;)

Can you see sparkles on stripes?
I made them with my SPRAY utility. It was intended for such work.

Playing some more with sparklies ... I finished up with a stereogram.
Amazing, not my intention, it just came out that way.

Your purple stones (or eggs?) are nice too :) Very eye candy.

Here is a variation where I'm trying to create a bigger sparkley look rather than a glitter-sparkle effect.
I made a quickshapes star >duplicated it many times>grouped> created a bitmap copy> then filled the cloned copy of the text with the bitmap.

Here is a technique I use, I found some metal flake paint chips, I copy paste, group and scale the chip until I have enough to cover my text. Then I use the arrange / combine shapes / slice shapes to cut the chip.

I have seen your "bigger" image on http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...t=sparkle+text but I don't seem to be able to find out how to add the sparkle / stars in Xara Xtreme - the text is OK, but I would appreciate your help with this final step, as the image you have produced is really good.
