Another question about circle-curved text !

Hello to all.


I would like to know if it is possible, with the "Fit text to curve" option, to keep the letters remaining "right" (they don't curve individually, only the letters-line is curved).

not as such I don't think

what you could do is make a clone curve for each letter and having attached each letter to its curve move it along into position

you can ctrl+click the curves to delete, or hide them in the gallery in pro, as necessary [if not using pro, use duplicate layers rather than clones - maybe a better idea anyhow]

bit clumsy maybe and slow

perhaps someone else has a quick way :)

If I'm understanding this correctly, you want the curve to affect the position of the letters, but not the rotation?

The long way around would be to convert the text to a shape, then separate each letter (ungroup), select them all and switch to the Freehand tool, and create a brush using those shapes. Draw a line with them, then click Edit Brush, set spacing as needed, and turn off Rotation along the path. The size of the letters would be determined by the width of the line. The problem with this is that the height of letters would be equalized, so it wouldn't work so well if you have capital & lowercase letters.

I was trying changing the center of rotation for each letter.

It's pretty easy to do by hand if you keep the letters vertical. I'm not sure it's worth faffing around fitting to the curve - just drag the individual letters into position.

The first time I tried offsetting, the tall letters were shifted to the front, and the others to the back. So, the word got misspelled. No idea why this happened. You may be more correct that you know.
