Painting with the Shapebuilder tool
DPX's Shapebuilder tool can be used to paint with vector shapes. large soft semi transparent strokes can give a water colour wash effect, semi transparent strokes can also be overlaid and colours will mix. you can fill your strokes will fractal fills and give your painting a bit of texture, and you can even use the shape builder to paint in shadows and shading.
Here are two quick examples of what the shape builder can do. Has anyone else been experimenting along these lines? All are welcome to post their ideas, techniques and examples in this thread! Lets experiment together!

Re: Painting with the Shapebuilder tool
Good work Frances that should spark some interest. Sadly I have not done much with that, but I will now.

Thanks Larry :) I look forward to seeing what others can come up with!

Re: Painting with the Shapebuilder tool
This is more drawing than painting but I'm continuing to practice drawing/painting more fluidly with the shapebuilder.

Re: Painting with the Shapebuilder tool
Here is another one. This time I got paid to play with the shapebuilder! :D The client who owns a local grocery store presented me with a photo quickly snapped on a cell phone of his produce manager and wanted me to reproduce it in an ad. The pic was very blurry and and the lighting not good so below is my solution which the client loved!
