Apple Wallpaper
Did this for myself.
Looks pretty good in Windows as well.
If you want it, then let me know what size you would like, because there are many screen resolution sizes.
Or, there's nothing stopping you drawing one, yourself!
But, I would be more than happy to do one for the size you want.
And in a colour you want.

Re: Apple Wallpaper
Do you think that people with Macs spend endless hours creating Windows logos?
Nah, I don't think so either.

Re: Apple Wallpaper
Let's face it the apple logo is a hell of a lot better than the windows logo, and that's from someone with a love hate relationship with apple (I love to hate it)

Re: Apple Wallpaper
I like it Rik. Very well done. I would like two in the same size.1920 x 1080 One in the current color and one in burgundy. Also, could you give an overview of how you achieved dark shading around the wight circle. very well done. I appreciate your work.
No, i don't think the windows logo is that interesting. The only one i liked was the one in Gary's tutorial. I enjoyed that one. The apple logo is just plain addicting. Gary got me hooked with his apple tutorial. I have been drawing them ever since. Now, I think Rik is hooked. :)
I have been a Microsoft fan since the first windows came out in the early 90's. I used-to bag on the mac until I received an iMac for my birthday in June. It seems to be a soled piece of equipment with a fast operating system. Xara has performed better on this system then my old Dell PC. I like the iWorks sweet better then the Microsoft package. Much easier to use. (for me anyways.)
Rik, you are getting perry good with logos. You have been practicing. :)

Re: Apple Wallpaper
Well, I tried drawing a windows logo but something just doesn't look right. Maybe it's because i'm running my Windows on a mac. :)

Re: Apple Wallpaper
No problems at all, Paul. The pleasure is all mine.
I hope I got the burgundy colour right!
The outer part of the wallpaper is more towards the burgundy colour but the inner needs to be lighter.
But, if you want me to make it darker, that's easily done!

This thread and the other posts, for me, are not about the Apple logo.
I've enjoyed trying to get the look on and around the logo.
I'll put a little tutorial together for the white circle, as soon as I can.
Then, maybe, we can get those new to Xara having a go as well.

Re: Apple Wallpaper
Here's a metallic/chrome one I did but could not get it to work on a wallpaper, unless you like a black background?!
-
Re: Apple Wallpaper
Now thats impressive. Yes, The black background would be fine. Excellent job Rik. Tip: if you put a little shadow between the apple and the reflection, it adds some depth to the reflection. let me know what you think.

Re: Apple Wallpaper
Thank you Rik for sharing your wallpaper and customizing the color and size for me. They look great. You are getting quit good with these logos. I look forward to seeing the tut on your shading technique that you did for white circle. Keep up the good work.
