Re: New to Xara
I was more thinking on the lines of texturing, like a metal look or wood, or whatever. I have a symbol with a graduated fill, and even have one with fractal clouds and messed with moving that around. I do not have the CD, so I do not have fills and clip art and such. So, I have the movies and look at tutorials, but sometimes they mention doing something that I can't seem to manage.
I have improved and found out a lot, but it is frustrating to try to come up with ideas when I am not sure I can do it or not.
I hope to create a planet for one of my backgrounds and that is the next project.

Re: New to Xara
sorry if you already know this - but in the clip and fill galleries there is an option 'get fills/clipart' which will download these for you - there will be more on the disk as I recall, but this will be a start

Re: New to Xara
Actually I did not. I had read that this is how it reads the fills on CD. I did not know there were any for downloading. I will have to try that.
Thank you.

Re: New to Xara
'get' for downloading
'disc' for CD - or elsewhere on your computer

Don't know if this has been mentioned before -- it's an elaboration of the method described by handrawn in #7 above.
It's good for drawing cartoons or organic shapes using partial contours -- without being left with extraneous lines inside or outside the shape.
Also useful for coloring behind sketch lines.
