Re: Banque Nationale logo
Not sure about the logo (a stylized building/wall?) but the type looks as if it is being eaten away. Not a good thing for a bank.
Re: Banque Nationale logo
Hi Rik, there is some explanation on the following link http://www.infopresse.com/archive/article/39003 that is in French. Having read the article there is not much explanation other than the logo is a folded red carpet that gives attention to personalized service for its customers.
Ciao

Good bit of detective work there, Roly.
So, that's what it is!
Re: Banque Nationale logo
Bet they paid big bucks for that masterpiece.

I'm sure they did but I know that this was not the only design selected nor is the final logo the same as when it was presented. As a rule the design firm probably presented a range of designs, then made modifications to the selected design. Aside from the logo, the design firm creates a range of sizes, and a very complex standards manual outlining how the logo is to be used on buildings, stationery, bank cards, ATM machines, ads, websites, TV etc.
So the design firm gets paid the big bucks but there is an awful lot more than just one logo involved.
Re: Banque Nationale logo
Oh, I agree that there's a lot of work involved.
And I'm sure we'd all love to have that problem!
And there's no way anyone can guess which design a customer is going to choose.
I may not like it, you may not like it, but, that's what the customer chose.
But, my curiosity was aroused by the fact that it doesn't really (in my opinion) work as a flat/single colour design.
Then I wondered about the thinking behind the design.
So, if it's correct that 'red carpet' was part of the brief, then I wonder what we would have designed?!
