here we go with the ultimate solution to import DXF files into XARA X. For those of you who don't know what DXF means: it's a CAD format developed from AutoDesk, kind of an industry standard to exchange technical drawings.
Actually, there are two solutions:
01. Get Rhino at http://www.rhino3d.com
Not free (around US$ 800), but small on the hard drive and extremely powerful.
Rhino does have an '.ai file generator, so you can import the CAD files into Xara X
02. Get CAD Publisher at http://www.jwgraphics.com.au/
The basic Autoset version is free, very powerful but extremely large on the hard drive.
I **know** this will help all of you who screamed for a DXF plug-in. Of course it would be a lot nicer to have a sleek, tiny plug-in in XARA, but until the X developers will release this handy tool, this alternative a great help!

Well, as far as I know there are NO other sleek, tiny plugins in XX either (aside from the support for some PS plugins)! XX just doesn't have a modern, modular program structure - unlike, say, Illustrator and InDesign, which are 90% plugin-based apps. XX is just one solid, chunky EXE with a few DLLs - not a plugin in sight.
Jens, I got my copy of Illustrator 10 two days ago - man, that has a wealth of fabulous features!!! It both sucks and rocks! It's hard to use in some ways, but features like liquid brushes and symbols are totally awesome.
