Cool effect, John, but couldn't you fo that with a contour?
Probably - I'll have to investigate further. It's the background repetition that I liked though, as much as getting part of the text transparent etc :)
Hi John, I put a 3 colour filled rectangle at the back and I'm not sure what use that is either. The duplicated text effect is very neat, I agree.
Saludos,
Bob.
After rumination I've decided it's Pop-Art*, not utilitarian  I think I was intrigued how the bit that was taken away was filled, the filled bit was taken away and the duplication appeared from nowhere ... all from 'joining shapes'. Xara is FUN, isn't it! :D
You were right about the wallpaper/background possibilites, John.

Or as a button with 99.5% transparency over the focal point?
Still having fun.

Bob.
Very nice effect.
I am always very interested to understand perfectly the behaviour of every tool, I can't realize in this case when you make the join why the text appears repeated.
Could somebody explain me that?.
Un abrazo
I don't know either, but it only takes from one bevel (the second image had three different bevel types to choose from) whether the circles are grouped or not. The background 'joins' to the bevel, but why it repeats ...
