How do you get a sharp image exporting?

How do you get a sharp image exporting?

i've used Garys 15 step gold blend and now when i exports its not a very sharp image, i've exported as a png as was mentioned in some threads while searching and i double the pixels and once exported resized........but i still get the lines going horizontally :confused:
is it the linear fill thats not right?

Looks to me like you've exported the PNG as 256 colour rather than true colour.

See my exports below.
True Colour on the left - 256 colour to the right
