I made this in Blender 3D:)

Looks good Guss, the reflection diesn't look right to me though.
I admire your effort.
I wish I'd get off my rusty dusty and learn blender.
Nice render Guss, the tea is amazingly realistic.
Larry one of the beautiful things about using a 3D application is the reflections are as accurate as real life. The designer does not dictate the reflection except by placing objects relative to each other, the light source, the reflectivity and texture of a surface, and the camera view. The application handles all the physics and creates reflections the same way the sun, lamp, shiny surface, physical object and viewing angle do in the physical world.
@ Soquili
something tells me that you are no noob in the world of 3D! :)

Also done in blender 3D:)

Another very nice render Gus.
I used a program called POVray for DOS as my first 3D application many years ago. It was more like writing a program in C rather than working with a modern 3D app. You had to define shapes, booleans, lights, cameras, and colours in code.
I am familiar with POV-ray, but only a very tiny little bit!
As a young 3D artist, I salute you,
It sounds like you've been there and done that...
EDIT: I had a look at your gallery, there are some pretty impressive works there!

Mike Bailey is our resident 3D guru and has a broader experience than I have.
No need to be Sorry Larry, in real life reflections and refractions often don't look right. It would be very odd indeed if real teacups were as reflective as those in Guss' scene.
